problem - no sound whatsoever
hi all.........running windows 98
problem - no sound whatsoever, yet speakers work fine (tested on other pc)
sound card is plugged in & always has been. gone into device manager & cannot see sound card listed. no volume icon in system tray either, & havent got a installation disc for the sound card.
any suggestions?

More info please. Make/model of pc, motherboard, sound card. Any yellow ! or ? in device manager.
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

sorry i think the best bet is to take the pc case off & see what make & model the sound card is then try to locate a driver on their website

Or you can go to
www.hwinfo.com
that will give you the type of sound card installed and just give us that info and we can help you track down the drivers.
I think the problem is either an ID10T or PEBCAK error
