    Post DNS settings

    Hi all, sorry if I have put this post in the weong section, but I wasn't sure where to put it really.

    My problem is this; I have a Sony J6 mobile phone that can be set up so that it can access
    ordinary e-mail accounts. Setting this up requires various settings to be
    entered on the phone, and I have found all of the settings apart from one:-

    It needs to know "The settings for the DNS server"

    I was hoping that you may be able to tell me what to enter for this as on my
    PC it is set to "server assigned" and the phone needs it specifically put
    in - it has no "auto", "server assigned" options etc.

    So how do I find out the DNS settings (I'm with Freeserve) and what is the likely entry format on the phone for these settings?

    Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks;
    Stu.

    You'll need to mail their technical, it depends what service you have(for your mobile) they have differnt servers to support 'wap & wap like stuff'(their words-stuff???).

    I forsee a long correspondence.....

    Wink

    I've already e-mailed Freeserve and its been a few days with no reply so I'm not expecting to get anything out of them.

    Are you really sure that there is no other way of finding out this information?

    Thanks,
    Stu.

    Running WINIPCFG.EXE might give you enough info to get you started.
