    Front panel sound hookup

I recently purchasd a new case for my computer, and it has a sound jack built-in to the front of it. Problem is, i don't know how to hook it up to my mother board. This is the motherboard i have..

    Yea, i know it's ****.

Anyways, this is what the sound cable looks like.

    Mic in - Red
    Mic bias - white
    ground - black
    L-in - yellow
    L-out - green
    R-in - orange
    R-out - black

Those are the wires, i just need to know where they go.

The front panel connector pins look like this.

    2 . . . . . 10
    1 . . . . . 9

Sorry about the ****ty diagrams, but this is the best i can do.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Are there any jumpers on the front panel connector pins on the motherboard? Usually, one jumper is audio, one is microphone - or one is left audio, one is right audio. The general theory is you remove the jumpers and put the front-panel wires in their place.

Usually, though, this cuts out the rear speaker ports, even without headphones connected. You can try looking up the motherboard manual on its maker's site. Most of the cheap boards do not have front audio that works correctly, even when wired according to the diagrams (it tends to give you either front OR back, but not both, and it doesn't switch over when you plug in headphones) the ones I have seen work perfectly are Intel boards.

If you can't get it, there are solutions like this one:

You plug it into your PC, speakers +headphones into it, and toggle between outputs.
