onboard usb ports
I have a gateway essentials 700c, I just upgraded to XP pro. This pc only has usb ports no ps/2 ports at all. The Front usb ports seem to work fine. The rear usb ports doesnt seem to be there I cant find a driver for the ports. And Xp doesnt seem to recognize the rear ports. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated or if any one knows where i can grab the drivers.
Thanks

Welcome to Windrivers fallguy Colt.
No drivers are needed for the usb ports. They need to be turned on. Check the bios setup and see if there are settingsfor usb ports. It's either that, or, they don't work.
I hate those pcs without ps2 ports. It will work eventually, but not with that quality workmanship.

Do you have anything to test the ports with? I carry around a $10 usb light mostly for test purposes. Do you have anything you can use?

Enter your serial number. Just had a 500c essentials in the shop. There was a usb patch available.
You can also use Gateways detection of your system.
