Hp Pavillion a450y
This computer will power on, but no video and no post beeps. I have removed the ram, modem and changed video cards all to no avail. I dont even receive a error code with the ram out of the machine. The power supply checks good, and the cpu fan is running. I'm thinking motherboard, but was wondering if it could be the cpu?
Thanks.

Seriously though, can you check the cpu in another machine or do you have another cpu to check in this machine?
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

Ok, finally found another machine to swap parts with, turned out to be cpu. Next question, does anyone know a cheap reliable place to purchase boxed or OEM processors? OEM #RK80532PG072512 Boxed#BX80532PG2800D
Thanks

This system, as far as I remember, comes with "Oxford" P4SD-LA motherboard, sometimes it can be "Stingray" revision... Look what sticker covering BIOS chip says... I've seen both version in that that Pavilion system.

I guess, I'm bit late with my reply... Glad you found what was causing problem...
