I ran adware the other day and I think I've deleted a registry file that plays sounds on my pc - keeps saying media audio controller needs to be installed - when I look at my driver device it says that nothing is installed for the sound. I've run AIDA32 and it tells me that my motherboard is :

AIDA32 says that I have a Sis7012 and/or SiS 7018 - but I've downloaded them both and still won't work - the 7018 won't even install...can anyone help, or shall I re-install xp?

Apparently there are at least 3 different models of that board and maybe as well 3 different sound drivers. I can see no straight GA-8SIML
