If you were to die today do you know where you would go?
Ahh the question of all things.... How do I get to heaven? How do I obtain salvation, the true, the real way. I want to know how to get to heaven is the question a lot of people ask, BUT IT'S SO SIMPLE!!!
Step One: Understand SIN---
In Romans, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
This means all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Another words, we have all said something wrong, done something bad, thought of something we should never had thought of. This is what we call a sin.
We have all sinned! Nobody is perfect, everybody including ME, you, and everybody else on this planet is a sinner.
Step Two: Understand the penalty of SIN---
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." This means that we die because of sin, and we go to hell because we are not perfect and cannot enter the gates of heaven.
Step Three: Understand The Gift of God---
"But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." This means that God as Jesus Christ came down in human flesh, lived as a perfect man, died on the cross for our sins, and rose the third day. He died on the cross to pay all of the world's sin so that you and I could have a way to heaven!
Final Step: Understand that the way to heaven is asking God into your heart to save you---
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Not would be or could be, SHALL BE. This means that if we ask God to come into our heart, by simply praying to him, asking him to save you, you WILL be saved. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." If you want you can pray this simple prayer, BUT YOU MUST MEAN IT IN YOUR HEART. Saying it doens't cut it, you have to be true and serious about accpeting God, not to mock or make fun of him. "Dear Lord, I know i'm a sinner, you died for me on the cross. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart Lord, and save me. In Jesus name I pray, amen!" That's it, if you say this asking God to save you and mean it in your heart, you will be saved.
------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
Works can NOT get you into heaven!
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Going to church doesn't get you saved, reading your Bible doesn't get you saved, being a good person doesn't get you saved, trying your best doesn't get you saved! Only God can save you.

and the self rightous tirade award goes to ...
I'm all for open discussion but having your first post be something like this just seems self-rightous to me.
Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.

Well I know I won't go to hell when I die, cos I live in hell on a daily basis. So I guess heaven or in my case a room with Sky TV, endless supplies of pizza and beer and the occasional visit by Heather Medway.
Maybe she could bring a friend once in a while

So you ask if I've found Jesus?
My answer would be "Is he lost again?"
