ATI has released a new ATI Catalyst drivers bringing them up to version 5.4. The package contains:

RADEON display driver 8.121,
Multimedia Center 9.06.01,
Catalyst Control Center 5.4 (requires .NET Version 1.1 Framework),
HydraVision Basic Edition 3.25.9006,
Remote Wonder 3.01,
WDM version 5.01 (6300) and
Southbridge/IXP Driver.

Issues Resolved in CATALYST Software Suite 5.4


  • 3DMark2001: A black screen is no longer displayed when launching 3DMark2001 after launching Aquamark3 when the CATALYST CONTROL CENTER is installed
  • Pacific Fighters: Playing the game after playing any track for a short period of time and having the landscape detail set to perfect no longer results in the clouds becoming blocking when flying
  • Sail Simulator 4: Attempting to play the game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON 9800 XT installed no longer results in the operating system failing to respond and rebooting
  • SolidWorks 2004: Display corruption is no longer noticed when setting the AA to 6X and AF to 16X
  • Splinter Cell Chaos Theory: Depth buffer corruption noticed on the ATI RADEON X800 PRO is now resolved
  • Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: Loading the Dantooine level of the game under Windows XP no longer results in slow game performance
  • Using the ATI Problem Report Wizard under Windows XP SP2 with an ATI RADEON X850 XT installed no longer results in an error message appearing when clicking the Finish button for the problem report
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: An option to select Yes or No to changes made in SMARTGART is now displayed when clicking the Apply button in SMARTGART
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: Playing a video clip in the background and entering the Overlay page found in the Video section no longer results in the default value for the Hue not being reapplied unless the CATALYST CONTROL CENTER is closed and re-launched
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: Selecting Germany as the language no longer results in some of the text overlapping each other on the Unlock button
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: Selecting Netherlands (Dutch) as the language no longer results in some of the text in the Hotkey manager being cut off
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: The Bus setting information is now displayed in the Graphic Hardware section of the Information Center found
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: The Display Manager Wizard no longer contains a Component Video single display setting message, when multi-display desktop mode is selected
  • CATALYST CONTROL CENTER: Custom modes can only be applied if the display device can support the mode selected
  • Attempting to apply a higher refresh rate to a non-DDC monitor no longer results in the refresh rate reverting to 60hz.
  • SXGA+ LCD panel flicker is no longer noticed when the frame buffer (UMA size) is set to 32MB or 64MB
ATi Multimedia Center 9.06.1


Resolved Issues with the ATI MULTIMEDIA CENTER. The following section provides information on resolved issues with this release of the ATI MULTIMEDIA CENTER. These include the following:
  • The channel change time has been improved when using the CATALYST 5.4 software driver in conjunction with the MMC 9.06.1 as compared to CATALYST 5.3 and MMC 9.06.
  • Corruption is no longer noticed when playing back a transcoded output file that was using a low target resolution such as, 352x240, or less
  • All audio options for the MULTIMEDIA CENTER are now available for when selecting Spain (PAL B/G) for the TV tuner
  • The TV Player no longer fails to during the TV setup when selecting the audio input source
  • The ATI MULTIMEDIA CENTER no longer fails to respond after the installation of Pinacle Studio 9.3
  • Installing the ATI MULTIMEDIA CENTER in a system with an ATI TV Tuner product with a third party graphic card, no longer results in player image corruption when resizing the TV Player size to 400x300 or smaller
  • Using any preset other than Native when using the DTV app to perform a recording no longer results in the still capture failing to appear
  • Pausing TV playback on a system containing an ATI 9100 PRO IGP and an ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 PRO (PAL) no longer results in stereo audio being lost when resuming from paused TV
  • Enabling parental lock when playing a DVD no longer results in the bookmarking becoming disabled and the DVD starting from the beginning when restarting the DVD playback
  • Frames Per Second (FSP) is no longer displayed as 0.0 when exporting DTV content to MPEG4 or MPEG4 format
