Something silly
Point Windows explorer at C:\ (or the root of whatever is your main drive) and press * on the numeric keypad.
(This is a Win98 thing, I assume it works on other versions)
The adjacent - key reverses it.
Does anyone really want to do this often enough to have a shortcut key?

I guess it is a 98 thing then, they worked out no-one would want to use it...

No, it works in XP - you have to have the Explore (not just C: in the Explorer window, right-click the C drive and select Explore) view active.
It does work, and it is kinda neat ... I guess ... in the same way that a train wreck is kinda neat ...
