    Unhappy what happened to my sound card?

    I was given an emachine computer, when i recieved it--- the sound and the video card was working perfectly. I let my daughter use the computer, she was trying to play music from a c.d., I dont know what she did but when she was done; i could not gain access into the computer, it would not leave out of safe mode, so i had to get a copy of windows xp and re install it. Now i realize i have no sound, and the computer is saying i have no audio devices in stalled, and or it is null. Please help me , what can i do manually to fix this.

    Without the drivers disc that came with the computer . You can try Windows update and if that does not work open the computer to identify the sound card. Then log on to sound card manufacturers web site to download your driver. Good luck,Jo p.s. Post this sound card manufactors name and I am sure someone will help.

    Quickest way woulkd be to give us the exact model of the emachine.
    Another way would be to download and install everest and run it.
    Everest is a hardware identifier and so could tell us what exactly you have iun the machine
