A7n8x mobo, chieftec dragon case, front usb problem
I have an asus a7n8x deluxe rev. 2 mobo inside a chieftec dragon case. I know I have the front usb headers plugged in correctly because I can use my controller (usb gravis gamepad) fine and dandy. But if I plug in my 1.0gb cruzer mini thumbdrive in any of the front usb slots, I get an "USB Device Not Recognized" error. I have the latest nforce drivers 5.10. and the newest bios update 1008 for the motherboard. I am running WinXP with SP2 and all updates installed. The drive works fine in the rear USB ports. What could be the problem? Thanks for any help.

I have seen this a number of times.
Not too sure why it is but somehow the front USB ports seem to be different then the rear ones.
Construction maybe
Sorry I know this doesnt help much but i have yet to see a resolution othern then to use different cases

yeah ever since I got this its been flaky. I wonder if they sell the front usb componant somewhere to change the ones in the front? IF so I would get it in a heartbeat.

Maybe the front usb ports are not usb2 compliant?
