USB flash drive - assigned Drive letter
Hello gang...
quick question here, is there a way of assigning a USB flash drive an specific drive letter and being able to use it on different PCs with the same assigned drive letter?
i know that if you assing a drive letter that might be use by another PC or user that is using that particular drive letter on a network drive, but if i assign a USB flash drive with a letter X and i know for sure nobody has a network drive or other drive with X, can it be possible to assign the USB flash drive the X drive and be able to keep that drive letter when plugged into another PC?
thanks in advanced...
BTW, all the PCs that this particular user will be using with the USB flash drive have Wix XP Pro.

Laptops/Notebooks/PDA Mod
I put everything in one folder, then create a batch file that uses the subst command to create a drive letter mapped to that folder (subst dirname G: ) - then create an autorun.inf file on the root of your USB drive that simply runs the batch file.
You'll end up with an extra drive letter, but at least the one will always have the same letter.
