    humm in disk defragmenter it only shows the C: drive, and E: is still in My Computer :P

    Disk management isn't Disk Defragmenter - LoL - try again.

    hummmmmmmmm i belive its jsut waiting to show what i said a little while ago, but in Disk Defragmentor, it says only the C: drive is there and doesnt have anything about the E: drive, which is still showing up in My Computer =/
    sorry i might have to go for today. plz hlp me more tomorrow or later tonight if possible

    If you only have one partition on the main drive you will have a floppy drive A:, a hard drive C: and your cd/dvd E:.

    If you have more than that, please say so.

    Otherwise, you look like you are at the basics.

    In which case, plug the external into a USB 2.0 port and what happens?

    My mistake - you will show the cd/dvd as D: if you have no other hard drive - so what is E: ?

    drive e: is the external 1, i dont know why it chose the letter e... :P lol but thats what its supposed to be

    Could be a bad usb stick.

    Dduhden can you plug in your external drive to the power and then plug it into usb and tell us what Windows does... does it react at all? Wait a few minutes and then look in disk management again, has another drive appeared? Post a pic if there is another drive shown please.

    do you mean unplug it(from computer), unplug from power,wait a few mins, plug into power, plug into computer.
    and then see if anything happens?

    dduhden ; Noo Noo us talking about your external having a separate power cable and adapter and using it.

    What do you show under hard (DISK) drives in Device Manager? (where you took those screenshots)
