    Best bang for the Buck

Hi all i just wanted to ask your opinions on some fans for a Pent D LGA 775 Smithfield core . Confus-ed posted that he was totaly amazed that i would spend 50+ dollars on a CPU fan. I plan to overclock this. Also i will be using Arctic Silver 5 as the thermal paste.

I just use stock fans, but then I run machines within spec
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Personally I've found the A64's to be the most efficient so to speak at Overclocking, A64 3000 OC'd comfortably to A64 3800 range with an aftermarket cooler and Artic Thermal Paste.

Well for about the same price i can get a A64 3700+ and might overclock that around the 4500 range. Oh and techz what cpu fan do you use. If you dont know the make or model its ok just wanted to know what you were using. Also i was looking for a Video card van because i heard the one im ordering gets a little hot so i was wondering about that or. I just wanted to ask would a pci slot dual fan help the video card or a pci slot 1fan/exhaust do better?

That was a friends pc, he OC'd his AMD 64 3000 to 3800 with some Artic Silver paste and a Zalman cooler, I dont have the model with me.

VGA cards get hot, its not that big a deal, cause they have cooling designed to handle it, see that your case has adequate cooling and you should be fine

I was thinking about getting this case Which seems that with 7fans it should have adequate air flow but... according to sum of the reviews teh thing ways like 40 pounds and i heft my computer around atleast once a week for LAN partys. But i do have one of those harnes's you strap around the tower but it will just barley fit this SUPER tower. Its not that im apuss or sumthing just i dont want to cart the 40P case and my LCD monitor around by foot for about 1 mile. And if any of you know of a good backback that can fit 17" LCD please send me a link. because i also have to bring speakers and the keyboard etc.

7 fans for a case seems a bit much, I got 1 front (intake) 2 rear (exhaust). The intake fan blows air over the hard disk cage as well, so thats good. New cases also have a side panel fan over the cpu. But 7 still seems a bit much to me.

Personally I'd have gotten a gamin laptop, if I went to lan party's that often, or a SFF pc, easy enough to carry.

Yeah but for what im spending on a decent tower. will only get me a moderate laptop considering most of the games i play have a minimum req of 512ram and 64mg vid card.

I have the Zalman CPU cooler, and Two Zalman video card coolers on my two 6600 gt's, The stock video coolers were getting noisey
I also have two 120 mm fans in my case, One intake one exhaust, My case is the Tsunami dream case, NIce an light incase I have to pack it around
I would go with 120 mm fans beacuse they are much quieter than ther 80mm, My system is quiet and powerful and runs cool
    Format c I'm givin er all she's got cap'in !!! )
