Well first off what windows version?
If its XP they are here
http://support.packardbell.com/nl/my...an1200plus.exe
This will only give you the install not any of the software
Windows scanner and camera wizard will use it till you fins scanning software
Download and doubleclick the file to install the drivers on your system BEFORE the scanner is connected to your system. Once the setup has finished, the scanner can be connected and Windows XP will detect and install the correct drivers automatically

Hello,
The version of windows that I am running is Windows XP home, services pack 2.
That is the 5th time that I have tried to get the scanner to work but with no success.
I get a pop-up that says the following "The scanning software could not be found or your scanner is not connected. Please make sure that your scanner and your software are properly installed."
Yes the scanner is connected to the computer, because when I go to my computer there is a icon for the scanner.
I think the problem is that I do not have the software to make it work.
I only paid £6.00 + PP it is so frustrating not being able to use the item in question.
Regards.
Terry.

If you followed the driver installation instructions, and the scanner still isn't working, I'd say you have a defective scanner. For grins, try it on a different computer and/or OS. Bet it still won't work.

The software you mention Terry does NOT drive the scanner. Sounds like you paid 6 bux for a pig in a poke.... or didn't install the drivers fully before plugging in the scanner if it is usb.
If it's parallel, then it may be your settings for the parallel port.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Hi, I down loaded the drivers from the Packard Bell web so in theory they should be the right drivers..................as every thing I did was take from the instruction as the drivers installation instructions.
Regards.

this is the UK version of the xp driver from packard bell.
if you have an sis chipset you will need this too
While you are at it confirm you have the right scanner
Finally confirm that the following quote is the way you installed the scanner
Download and doubleclick the file to install the drivers on your system BEFORE the scanner is connected to your system. Once the setup has finished, the scanner can be connected and Windows XP will detect the scanner and install the correct drivers automatically.

Perhaps you could use it as a decoration in a shrubbery? As an alternative, throwing it at a brick wall could provide a few moments of amusement. Or, even better, if you know anyone artistic, something interesting might be done with the scanner to make it resemble a crocodile. Heck, just ship it to me, and I'll let my younger daughter see what she can make of it. We can split the profits. really.
