Video Converter Software?
Hello,
Does anyone know of a good, economically priced Video Converter Software?
I'm starting to put my father's slides onto PC and eventually will need to convert the WMV files into MPEG2 for putting onto Video CD or DVD. It's all new ground for me.
I downloaded the trial version of Advanced X Video Converter from here
http://www.aoamedia.com/
It costs £17.35 or $29.95 to buy the one without the ad in the Video. It is shareware.
Does anyone know of a more economical one that is efficient?
Thanks.

If these are still slides, how did they get to be *.wmv files in the first place?
I would have just transferred them to the pc as *.jpg files and then used windows movie maker to put them together for a video cd.

Could you be more specific as to the "slides" Mags? Are they picture files?
WindowsMovieMaker is a free product that comes with WindowsXP and can make a proper video out of picture files.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/m...oviemaker2.asp
NeroVisionExpress can take those pictures/video files and make them into a proper VCD/DVD for you to watch on a regular VCD/DVD player as well.
If you want to make it into a VCD and its a 1 time thing, you can use the trial edition (14 day trial) of this: http://www.tmpg-inc.com/download/tsve.html#trial
Freeware: http://www.stoik.com/products/svc/

Yes, I did miss out a few steps that I take ..
I scan the slides in with a Slide/Film Scanner as jpeg files, touch them up in Adobe Photoshop Elements, have been putting some sample slideshows together with Adobe Photoshop Elements (I've tried Windows Movie Maker and I don't find that as easy) and have been putting music to them as well.
Then in AdobePE I turn the Slideshows into .wmv files.
Then I need to turn the .wmv files into mpeg2 hopefully .. then I've tried a few successful experiments in burning them onto a Video CD .. which does play on the DVD drive in my PC. I can't test it on a DVD yet, cos I don't have a DVD for my TV nor a DVD re-writer on my PC .. don't rush me here! I'll get a DVD Re-writer one day .. Dad left 1,000s of slides, so they need to be input first until I can find out where they all belong.
I'll look at the Freeware one and the 14day trial I think, cos you are right, I'll only need it fully at the end.
It's just that all this converting takes rather a long time .. but so will getting all those slides in.
Thanks again.
