My Toshiba Laptop Dvd-rom Is Making Funny Noises
HELLO
my toshiba dvd-rom sd- r2212 is making funny noises
the dvd drive used to be ok, but suddenly these sound started to appear, it was ok at first it could still read the disk and run it.
but recently it stop reading the disk and making even more funny noises.
and now it seems like it running the disk but nothing happens.
please help me i dont know what to do.

If it is a software problem:
1)start>run msconfig
2)services
3)(now what you have to do is unclick the boxes that have 'unknown' next to them and leave the rest that have 'microsoft'...others will be like 'symante'etc.
4)restart your computer.
5) Should fix the problem.
If it's a hardware problem:Other than cleaning.I don't Know.

Anubis, I believe you have a bad drive. I know you didn't want to hear it, but there you are. A new drive will run about $100.
