    Keyboard - Video - Mouse ( KVM )

We have gone through a dozen different U.S.B. KVM's on base and have yet to find one reliable enough to take the everyday abuse we dish out and still keep on working without resetting the %$@#! thing. Anyone out there have any suggestions for a good quality 4 port U.S.B. KVM?

You obviously specified USB... but why? I used USB ones a few times and gave up on them as they were unreliable.

    Check this section out.

I just noticed this one which I may get for home use:

Here appears to be a USB one (I've never used):

I've got this one at work (well a model or two previous):

Mine is an SV831 and we've had it for 3 years now... I've had to turn it off once. There was only 5 computers through here that couldn't use it. I've always loved Startech KVMs I've got an old 4 port with serial mice and large keyboard connectors on it with the ps/2 ones and it's still going strong...

From a personal perspective, I've seen a lot of KVM switch lockup or because people brought on price for their company. For your home, it might work, as your PC will probably be power down or the case is that only one PC is ever powered up at any one time for extended periods.

In a business situation where you're managing servers that stays on most if not all of the time, it will lock up those home or retail store (ie: Belkin or Linksys) KVM swtiches.

I've had good experience with Avocent and it's pricey for a reason.

This is for up to 4 computers...

In the case of KVM switches if you're buying for a corperate enviornment, you get what you paid for.
