Not able to read blank cds
I have looked every where on the internet for an answer to making my disc drive read blank cds, it stopped recently not sure when, i just tryed to burn today and couldn't. I am using cds that i have had for a while and they all worked fine about 2 weeks ago, the drive still plays all cds but blank ones.
Already i have tryed uninstalling in the device driver, when that happened it came up with E: drive not accessible and i couldnt do anything with it. So i returned to an earlier time with system restore and still blanks would not work. I have looked up firmware and cant find anything that works with my unit. I dont have the option of starting my computer over do to many important files. I have uninstalled nero and other programs related to drivers, but i could burn with them on anyway not to long ago. Im pretty sure the drive is not fried, but it could be even though it reads everything but blanks. So how can i get it to work any options i can take without it getting worse?
Im using windows sp2,and model Lite-on dvdrw SHW-1635S
Any help on this would be muchly appreciated thnx.
