    Question HP Printers

    Does anyone know what the suffixes on HP printer driver names mean? For example, what is the difference between the following:
    HP LaserJet 5
    HP LaserJet 5L
    HP LaserJet 5M
    HP LaserJet 5P
    HP LaserJet 5MP
    ????

    Hi,
    I only have manuals for the 5L, 5P and 5MP:

    5L --> 4 PPM with 1MB RAM standard;
    5P --> 6 PPM with 2MB RAM standard;
    5MP --> 6 PPM with 3MB RAM standard.

    Also, the 5L and 5P uses Enhanced PCL 5 while the 5MP uses that and/or PostScript Level 2.

    The 5L's input tray holds up to 100 sheets while the 5P and 5MP has a second tray which holds up to 250 sheets as well as the standard 100 sheet tray.

    Hope this helps out somewhat.

    Good Luck!
