    Being a little bit African

    I just realised the couscous and the rooibos tea I'm enjoying with my lunch are both African, I don't think I've used them at the same time before.

    Anyone got bits of cuisine they like that come from somewhere distinct from their "native" background?

    At Christmas we make old fashined french canadian tortierre
    Or meat pies as some call em
    Only at christmas though and the recipe we use comes from my great grand mother.
    Ya wont find this one in any cook book

    Every day my friend. However, I met a fellow Venezuelan who is in the catering business and even makes his own cheeses. I may be stocking up on good old fashioned Venezuelan eats, soon.
    I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet.

    I'll be having a few of those next Saturday... again.

    When I think of German food, I normally think of sauerkraut and beer. I do not like either. When I was growing up, one of our neighbors had been raised in Germany and she made a lot of baked goods at Christmas that we all enjoyed. I think I need to go to Germany one of these days and see what I am missing. I like Mexican food best, but I don't have a drop of Mexican blood in me.

    Mexicans as it would be have a bit of native American Indian in there
    perhaps you get it from that end.

    German food is great.My favorite is Yeager Schnitzel, two thin, breaded pork cutlets in thick mushroom gravy, served with browned potatoes.often times
