    No sound on laptop

    Hi to all
    I sure hope someone can help this lost moma. I recently bought a used IBM thinkpad T23 laptop. It was reformatted and had win 2000 pro installed before the sale. I have no sound and the guy said the sound was fine before the reformat. I do not have a recovery cd, hope you guys can help.Here is a copy of the everst report.

    Being lazy tonight on this one... long day.

    You sound like your more than capable if you used Everest.
    That being said, do a Google search for AC'97 Audio Controller drivers.

    Now come on Shamus, this is an IBM laptop - lost moma needs to go to www.ibm.com
    Click on support & downloads near the top of the page, then either have the page identify the model (if the laptop is used to open the page) or find out the full model and enter that in the search box. The audio driver will be listed

    general page for the T23 is here but it is better to search via the actual model number.

    Just an update... the ibm site gave me the drivers I needed, thanks!

    Does this mean you have pirated software or what? If the person you bought the machine from installed the OS and didn't give you an OS disk, then you have problems a'coming.
