    I need a manuel or dirrection to install a AMD k62 400mhz on a compaq Presario 2284

    If it is just a matter of installing the CPU then power down and exchange the CPU's just be gentle. Then set the CPU in the Bios.
    otherwise give us the specs on your board so we can find a manual or go to the Compaq Site.
    I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.
