My friend purchased a PII 266 MMX computer from gateway a couple years ago. First mistake. In October last year he was having problems, took it in to gateway for repairs and they replaced the motherboard. In May this year, the computer would do nothing at all, so back it went to Gateway. They diagnosed it as needing a new processor, motherboard, and memory, at a nominal fee of $650. I told him let me check it out, and found that the power supply was intermitently working. For $110, I purchased a new case & MB. The computer works wonderfully now, except that in system information, on win me I get a problem device being "IRQ holder for PCI steering. The MB is an EPOX EP-61LXA-M. I installed the drivers which came with the MB, and I went to the EPOX site for updated drivers for win-me, and had no luck. Is there somewhere else I can find the correct drivers, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I would try using something other that ME for the diagnostics as it can be really nasty and pricky about some things.
Try a format and then a new install of the OS and then try teh drivers.

Really, why ME? If it's an old enough motherboard, there is no point to use that "pain in a$$".Try Win98SE instead or Win2000pro,if You want...
