FM on Laptop
I have a Sony Network Walkman MP3 Player with FM receiver. I would like to connect this to my Dell Inspiron Laptop so that I can listen to the FM stations on my laptop's speakers, rather than the headphone, when I am working. Is it possible to do this? As in, connect the stereo output of the sony to the mic input on the laptop and stream the music on the laptop speakers? The reason is that some of my favourite local FM stations dont broadcast online, and I dont enjoy having the headphones on all the time.
I looked at a couple of USB FM Receivers but they are quite expensive and have got bad reviews. So I was wondering if I could use my Sony itself. Suggestions please!

Get a stereo cable with the right plugs on the end, mp3 player out to line in would be best, but if you don't have line in on the laptop, try with the mic (but make sure the boost is off).
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Thanks NooNoo. I dont have a line in on the laptop. I will try using the mic input. I was just wondering if some software would be required to stream the music that is coming in through the mic input. Or will it get routed to the speakers automatically?

Ok. This is what Everest showed me about my Audio:
--------[ Windows Audio ]-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
midi-out.0 0001 0066 Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
mixer.0 0001 0068 SigmaTel C-Major Audio
wave-in.0 0001 0065 SigmaTel C-Major Audio
wave-out.0 0001 0064 SigmaTel C-Major Audio
--------[ PCI / PnP Audio ]---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intel 82801FBM ICH6-M - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-1] PCI
------------------------------------------------
I am slightly confused here. Does this mean I have a SigmaTel sound card or an AC 97 sound card?
And do you think I will need some application to stream the FM at the mic input?
If so, what software do you suggest.
Thanks in advance.
