    Problems With ACS Mobo

I purchased this barebone deal from Tigerdirect. It's an ECS pm800-m2 mobo and I put an intel cpu celeron D - 3.06 in. I have changed every setting in the bios I know of but keep getting the cpu has changed message on bootup...
I used the ecs manual and set the bios exactly as they say. Problem is when I hit f-10 to save and exit. I hit Y and it just hangs there. I hit Enter/Exc and I must reboot to get out of there.
Has anyone found the remedy to this one? Appreciate any help. Thanks.. Will

Ok. I will try that when I get back today. I have 2 sticks of Crucial xms which I was saving.

I had used Acronis to clone my old harddrive and put a bigger harddrive in. I placed the old harddrive back in and Now when I bootup it says something like '' boot cd failed'' ''Put boot disk in and hit Enter''....I don't know how to make a boot cd without being able to get in. Thanks.

Sounds like you need to reset it to boot to the main harddrive

Well, the Corsair ramm that I have doesn't line up with the ram slots on this board. Not sure of the pin counts

    Corsair CM2X512A - 6400 800 MHz

Just did a corsair check on this mobo and this is what is compatible with this board.

Ive noticed in the bios on this board when asked to save and exit, after hitting f10 and clicking y to save and exit, hit enter and it just hangs there. I have to reboot to exit. I know this board needs motherboard updates but I can't even get as far as loading xp. Been doing the google route finding out what other's have done and I can't see a remedy by anyone yet. thanks.

I put a matching pair of Ultra 400MGz sticks in. Pretty sure they were 3200.. Still the samo-samo - The hard drive is listed now but I can't get anything to boot. Had Ecronis boot and said it can't load the operating system or something like that. What's a fella to do?

If I take the harddrive from this puter and put it in the mobo from hell, do you think it would work? at least if I can get the updates for the ecs board it should be able to boot up??

If you are using XP or 2k or Vista, no it won't work, you can't just put a hard drive in a different machine and expect it to work.

By the sounds of it, the ecs machine is booting as far as loading windows, but stopping there. The quickest fix for this is to do a repair install.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Hello. There's no operating system on this machine. That's what I'm trying to do.........The puter boots and gets as far as ;verifying DMI pool data; - Update Success.........and stays there. I have the bios set to boot first from the floppy.. It's not booting when using a diskette.. Still giving the same cpu has changed warning. think I'll just toss this ecs board and try the gigabyte one.

I took this ECS board out and replaced it with the Gigabyte. Placed the harddrive in which was cloned by Ecronis from the other computer, and it fired right up and working ok right now. Will never give a second thought to an ECS board again. Just because of their sucking customer service and service after the sale...
