    Well it's to late I bought it I was told that it will work if you have
    windows 2ooo are XP installed. I'll just wait and see what happens, if not I can always sell it on ebay

    The only thing that will prevent the hard drive from working is the bios. If there is a bios update which goes over the 32mb limit, then it will be fine. Compaq are not known for the abundence of updates or useful descriptions of what is updated in the bios.

    ME is vunerable, but then you can always get the security updates and install them yourself. Windows update doesn't work, but the updates are still available for download.

    Exactly what is vunerable in ME that you heard about?

    Now I have 1 little problem a little magnet under the left speaker fell out I tried to put it back but I can only get it in half way any ideas.

    if you look here you can see how the magnet works. Given that we cannot see your speaker design, it might provide a view so that you can reposition it properly. Frankly, I would remove an replace the speaker since the magnet should not be loose!

    I support Windows xp. Microsoft is ending support for other products because they are outdated and these older operating systems can expose customers to security risks.I recommend that customers who are still running Windows 98 or Windows Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft operating system, such as Windows XP, as soon as possible.
