XP Pro - Confused Windows

I'm at a loss for this so maybe someone else has an idea. Recently my machine has started doing something wierd. If I walk away of use windows-L to lock my screen it will sometimes, random times, 5 min, 2hrs, I never know, forget my password.

I know the password works because soon as I power the machine off and back on it will let me logon. Anyone have an idea? Totally wierd and yes I've ran scans, all 4 on a friends support site. clean, other than some cookies..

First one is for domain users or users who want a domain style logon. Neither address the real issue which is its NOT a typing problem its an intermittin bug somewhere or something else.

second link could be me if I was DON but almost word for word my problem.

SD I wonder if a repair install might help... have you ever had to use toolz on this box to get the pw back?
