loading xp game on vista
Merry Christmas all. i have a question.
just bought the kid a new laptop and we're trying to load the "sims 2" game and it wont load. the game is for up to xp and the new laptop has vista. i even tried to use the configuration utility in vista to convert it but it keeps giving me errors and wont load. anyone have any ideas? thanks.

What errors does it give?
One possibility is that the video on a laptop may not be suitable, eg the Intel video chipset on some business oriented systems.
You could try running the system requirements tester here:
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
For example for The Sims 2 my laptop with ATI video passes the minimum requirement but fails the recommended.
