I've done that. Fortunately the client had backups of most of her files.
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience

Just think that 1.2V would be hardly enough to make the simplest silicon transistor based amplifier work since Vbe=0.6-0.7V

That's all I did, so recovery was easy.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Phone line voltages jump b/w -48 and +48 volts, (96v total potential) so it doesn't surprise me.

I've actually done something similar, I adding a new phone jack @ home, and while i was doing it the phone rang. My Arm went numb.

Another electrical oops, I was hooking up a 2000 watt audio amp in a theatre, when some dumb tech hit the power button on the amp.

Worst computer error i've ever done? Well lets see, lol, I ran a sql 2000 DTS job to update a table from test > production, only problem I updated the data as well.

Had an HD fail in our old raid array here, so we were trying to replace it. Something happened pooched the array so it had to be rebuilt and restored from tape. 8mm tape to be exact, not to mention the fact that it took the better part of a day and a half to restore 220gb of data.

(I love my new LTO3 drive hehe)
