Weird File Access Issue
Hey all, stumped on this one:
We have some files on one of our Windows 2003 servers that all of a sudden have become inaccessible. You can browse to them and actually see them, but cannot open, move, rename, etc. When right clicking you get a very limited list of items in the menu. One folder has 2 word documents and both behave this way. I put a new file in the directory and it behaves normally. My first thought is security. I have domain admin privs and I cannot do anything with them either. I am a little concerned about possibly a "Deny" permission may have been placed here (I am not the only admin). Does this sound consistent with the Deny? Personally we never use the Deny, caused other problems in the past.
For fun I restored the files from a backup done this past Friday to a new server altogether...same issue. Other than reboot, I cannot think of anything else to try. Any ideas?
