    drivers needed for hp pavilion x1963

    hi i am having trouble getting this puter to recognize the ethernet card says the drivers are not installed i have tried several times to install the drivers to no avail and i have went to hp's site and cannot get any help there no info on this puter at hp at all i also am having trouble getting sound i installed xp into this puter about 1 year ago and it was working fine until i moved it to another room help me please

    Welcome to Windrivers pilgram.
    It would seem that your Pavilion is a xt963 and not a x1963...
    You are right though, HP is not much help:

    Look under 'supplies and accessories' down the left-hand column. That comp didn't have a NIC as standard issue, only a telephone modem, so if it came with one it was probably as an accessory.

    The Everest route usually provides the answer.
