It's a shame you don't know your own password on your own laptop.
If you don't remember setting up a password, then maybe there is no password needed? Who knows?
That's as far as I can go since Ferrit already stated the obvious.

Yes it's possible. Not as easy as 1-2-3 but doable. Some traces will be left in the event log though (unless it's cleared, which is another sign that someone did something).

By what I put in to enlighten your phrase, You cannot log in to your account
    without password.

If anyone has physical access to your computer, then it's usually pretty easy to defeat software security measures like passwords. It can take a few minutes, but it continues to amaze me how often physically securing equipment is neglected. If you can't literally keep your data under lock and key, just as a starting point, it isn't secure.

Thanks everyone for your insight on this! My big concern was someone logging into my account by going around my password.

What I had done was, I was using my laptop as video storage for a security camera, I would log off after setting the camera each morning, so, I got home one evening and my account was unlock and I new I had lucked it and the video was erased! this is why I'm concern! just trying to figure out how it was done and how too tell how it was done!

    Thanks againe...

With that last note, How about a small camera (you can get them to look
like anything) to record your computer area to find out just WHO is the
culprit. you can use another computer somewhere remote from that area.
or a vcr recorder. there is always a way to find out.

Lock the laptop in a cabinet.

If you're trying to keep an eye on things your kids do in the house I have experience being the security breacher when I was younger and I can tell you every idea on earth that would catch them off guard. EXAMPLE: When I would break into the closet my locked up posessions were in when I was grounded I was careful to brush out my footprints in the carpet after locking my stuff back up before they got home. Which is an idea no kid thinks of. It's easy to brush the grains in a direction that they all match and then later you can see the shoe size and even the shape of the sole. If you want a less cloak and dagger approach get 2 lengths of chain and close the laptop lid and literally chain it shut.
One Script to rule them all.
    One Script to find them.
One Script to bring them all,
    and clean up after itself.

depends on the size of the cabinet really, and if the door has slats or enough airflow under and above the door. Also don't just put the laptop on a flat surface in there if you're worried about overheating, put it on a pie cooling rack or something else that will allow for the heat to dissapate.
