PST File
I have a clients .pst file which is 2.2GB in size. It is for Outlook 2000 and corrupted. I have tried the scanpst program to repair and possibly reduce the size in order to recover the data but to no avil. I have tried scanpst for other newer versions of outlook and no luck. Anyone have any suggestions as to what else I could try to recover the data?

The only info I can find online suggests this:
For seriously corrupted PST files, try running Scandisk.exe (look under Programs | Accessories | System Tools) first, then Scanpst.exe, repeating 3-4 times until neither program returns an error. We've know this technique to restore data that the user thought was lost forever.
Good luck.

Outlook 2000 and 2.2gb? impossible!
Outlook 2k only supports PST files up to 2gb in size (non-unicode)

I'm bad, let me restate the size: 2,119,532,544 bytes. In the meantime since I now have time, Iam going to try to repair, recover if at all possible.

The reason your user probably ran into the problem in the first place was they exceeded the supported size for the pst file.
If you can get it open at all, just move a few folders out to bring the size down and it should work.

Well, all is well thanks to everyone's help. I was able to obtain the Oversized PST program. Once reducing the file size, I was able to do a scanpst and removed all errors. Thanks again for evryone's help.
