Sound recording everything I hear

Hi,

I tried to have a search through some of the posts for an answer to my problem before posting but didn't have much luck.

My problem is, whenever I voice chat, the mic will transmit everything I am hearing. This mean that if I'm playing a game, the people I'm voice chatting with will hear the sound effects and music of the game. This happens even when I have headphones on.

I have Realtek onboard sound and I have just installed the latest HD Audio drivers last night. I am running XP SP2 on my computer.

Double click your volume icon in that's near the clock on the bottom right of the screen - on the top left, click the options menu and then click properties. Select the recording radio button and check all the checkboxes below the click OK. Your volume controls will become recording controls. Make sure that the only item checkbox selected is "mic".

In the recording volume control panel, all the volume control sliders are grey'd out except for the one under Recording. They are all positioned about 3/4 of the way up the slide bar but I can't change it.
