emachines 3260 motherboard driver needed
Is anyone able to help.
I have installed a copy of winxp pro onto a blank system. Unfortunately I don't have the original motherboard installation cd and therefore have no network recognition to run driver update software.

Welcome to Windrivers Gabriel73
Is it just the network card driver you need?
The best unofficial site for emachines is here
Your model is here Click the download link on the left for all the drivers.

Thanks for the welcome NooNoo
I've managed to get all the drivers I need other than the audio.
Realtek AC97 doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas??

Get the realtek off the main realtek site possibly.
http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/...&GetDown=false
Just click accept and go next.

When you say doesn't seem to work... do you mean the download doesn't work? The file doesn't install, or it installs but you have no sound or something else?

Sorry, I should have been more explicit.
The file installs fine but I get no sound, and the system still won't recognise audio hardware.
I get a code 28 error when I try to run media player.
Could this be something other than driver issues?

here is a list of Windows media player codes. As you can see, there is no code 28... are you referring to device manager errors - the driver has not installed?
You may not actually have realtek... you might have soundmax. Uninstall the realtek driver from add/remove programs and then check there is no entry for ac97 under sound in device manager. Download the sound max and restart your machine. You should get a hardware install wizard come up. Leave it where it is and find the soundmax file you downloaded.
Double click the soundmax file and it should be a complete installer. It will ask you to restart when it has finished installing. Restart the machine (yes, ignore the hardware wizard still, windows will close it when it shuts down).
When it restarts have a look in device manager and see if you have any devices that show ! or ? and post them please.
