    Unhappy windows xp won`t boot

    no booting of any kind i get this message with the blue screen;stop c000021a system error status 0x00000000 (0x00000000 0x00000000)this is a gateway laptop model mt6840 googled a few hour but did not find any usefull answer,beside format and reinstall,this laptop was downgraded from vista to xp so i don`t really like the thought of chasing all tha drivers and reinstalling,so hoping someone can get a easy fix if possible and i would be a very happy man,Claude

    Try this or a repair install.

    there is nothing that works i guess i will just have to go ahead format and reinstall,that will teach him to install all that **** from the web and to back up his pc,thanks NOO for trying to find a cure,

    You can back up his data first by pulling the drive.

    yes it is done already,but i was a bit upset at the stupidity of some people and felt maybe i should let them pay for it,but when i do the job i always end up doing the right and proper thing,i guess i just can`t do a sloppy job no matter what,lol thanks again Noo,

    A bit too late but.. fixed this issue last week on a customer's laptop. It was infected with some malware, booted with a PE disk and cleaned up the startup, also there was a scheduled task created by the malware that was running at boot.
    Protected by Glock. Don't mess with me!
