Freeze-up
I have been using Netware 4.91 SP2 on a Dell GX270, Win Xp Pro SP2, Pent 4 2,8 ghz, 1 GB ram. All was well, but recently when I try to login from the Novell client, the computer freezes. I removed/reinstalled the client, checked for the right tree, server, etc. I pinged the server, and router so i know i can communicate with them. The only item is i have recently installed Norton Anti-virus 2008 on the computer, and i thought i remembered there was a conflict with Norton and Novell? Any suggestions? Many thanks!

If you uninstall Norton, does the freeze stop? Norton the domestic product on a corporate sounding machine?? Or are you using the enterprise version?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Freeze-up
Thanks NooNoo, I solved the problem. Faulty patch wall cable connection for the ethernet connection. Once fixed, the freeze up disappeared. Yes, individual Norton on corp computer, since it bypasses all filtering. Many thanks!
