Dvd/cd not recognized by hard drive
I have TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H493A dvd/cd drive that does not seem to work. I have tried the uninstall device and tried to add hardware. My computer will then recognize that the cd/dvd drive is a new device that has not been installed. When I try to reinstall the driver I get a message that none other drivers can be found that are more update that the one it already has. Of course I have no idea where my xp installation file is now.. I tried looking for the TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H493A driver on the internet and did not find any luck. Please help - I don't have another cd drive and this is just "driving " me nuts
Thanks - T

Hello:
The drivers for the dvd/cd are incorporated in XP.
If you cannot boot from an XP install cd, then the cd drive is probably toast.
If you cannot find your XP install disk, borrow one or take the comp to a shop and get them to try theirs.
