    Secure system motherboard?

    About 5 years ago I bought a motherboard that came with a security add on feature. Basically it required a physical key which looked like a USB drive that had the digital key encrypted on it. If this wasn't plugged in when the computer was turned on the drive was unrecognizeable. I'm trying to find something similar for my system, basically in a SATA setup since the old one was for IDE. My goal isn't to hide data as that's almost impossible my real goal is to lock the drive the operating system is on so they cannot use my computer without my permission. I unfortunately gave away the old system so I have nothing to review to figure out what the technology was or who makes it. If this sounds familiar to anyone and they can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

    They are making the fingerprint reader security available as a dongle now;

    Cool CCT thanks for the info. I may try that if I can't find the physical key type of replacement. The only reason I'm wary of the bio-metrics is I've seen them not accept a fingerprint from time to time. Aside from that I like the idea. It could come in handy for my other work terminals though.

    OK finally I remembered the right kinds of key words to get started on my search but so far all I got was the original device I'll link it so you can see what I was talking about.
