Long time ago there was this guys who had problems with sound drivers. I have the same problem now, i know(pretty sure) it must be Realtek AC'97, also there's this C-Media, whatever i try to install it won't recognize the driver and says "The Data is invalid"

What is your motherboard make/model (you may have to look inside at the board itself - have a care).

OK -so you compare specs with this;
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=775I65G
If they match (looks like they will since that is what the board is BUT I'm trying to help you and other posters learn) then you want the Asrock downloads for that motherboard. (always 'unless' you have installed an add-on sound card - LoL).

It's the same as usual, when i try to install, the C-Media freezes on 94% and gives the same message. Also there's this sign on the lower right corner. After the format, even the CD which kind of gives the same drivers, still the program freezes on 94%.

Registered User
Data is Invalid error messages almost always are related to incorrect registry permissions for the driver being installed rather than because of incorrect driver downloads. If you are comfortable editing your registry, you can try this and then try reinstalling.
To fix the Error 13: Data is invalid problem, go to Start, Run... and type "REGEDT32.EXE" without the quotes to run the Registry Editor. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ENUM\P CI
and you will see a number of keys of the form "VEN_xxxx", where xxxx are strings like "1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_00011103&REV_04".
Under each of these folders will be another folder with a long numerical name.
Open each folder and look for the "DeviceDesc" which matches the hardware you are trying to install.
HIGHLIGHT THE ENTRY "VEN_xxxx" for that device and select 'SECURITY'-'PERMISSIONS' FROM THE WINDOW TOP MENU and then tick "Allow" for "Full Control".
Close REGEDT32 and then continue with the installation of your device.

To begin with, the permission goes back to its original state after restarts. Still, when grant permission to everyone and right after that try to install the device, still the C-Media installation freezes on 94% and throws me the message "The Data is Invalid". Losing hope here.

Could be very dumb question, but what happens if i delete all the "Sound, video and game controllers" option and try to "Search for new hardware"?

'the permission goes back to its original state after restarts.'
It could just be that you need to log in on the administrator account to install those drivers. Same with changing permissions. Must have admin rights!?!

You said nothing in post 1 about reformatting.
In any case, with a fresh install you shouldn't have permission issues. So I am stumped - ??
Sorry!
