The directions here will fix you up in most cases; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826513
HOWEVER, you have to have reasonable hard drive space available or a second drive to increase the page file.
Rule of thumb is to make the minimum AND maximum page file sizes 1 1/2 times your ram.
edit: and, for further help, please post some specs on your computer

Chances are your computer is infected with a virus, and or spyware. Update your antivirus and run it. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from here:http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebyte...=dl&tag=button
Install it. Update it, and run. Remove everything it finds. Reboot your computer.

A lot of my clients will develop this problem on occasions. If MS Office is installed, I recommend you go to Start> Search> All Files Folders, type in Normal.dot, make sure in advanced options, check hidden files and folders is checked. When is search is done, delete every instance of normal.dot. Problem resolved.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

How much RAM do you have in that computer? That's the first place to start. If there is too little RAM, then setting the page file to 1.5-3x the amount of RAM will not be enough. Furthermore, the page file (virtual memory) is *SLLOOOOOWWWW*
