Word 2000 freezes
Need this fixing in a hurry if poss, please........
Office 2000. AMD 5000, MSI MS-7312, 4.0Gb RAM.
Word freezes the whole PC with a grey screen if opened after switching user. If the PC is shut down or restarted and then Word opened, no problem. The freeze will happen on any of the three users if switch user or log off/log on is used.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and deleting Normal.dot.
Help...........
If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

Try here: http://www.personal-computer-tutor.com/NNTWord.htm
First try disabling any antivirus. Does it still freeze?

Thanks, but tried them. Found the site after googling. I have tried it with the a/v uninstalled, but no luck yet.
Problem is that they regularly switch user, so restarting each time is a real issue.

Just curious, when you were uninstalling/reinstalling, did you use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, for removal, or standard uninstall?
