Firewire Daisy chaining
I've set up a simple firewire network made up of a camera and two PCs - one for online streaming and the other for recording. The topology is as follows:
camera ->PC1 -> PC2.
All the firewire connectors are 6 pin. I've connected the camera and PC2 to PC1 so I imagine the camera and PC2 are leaf nodes in the topology. As expected, even when PC1 is off, I'm able to capture the camera frames in PC2. However, when PC1 is turned on while PC2 is receiving video frames, I lose the camera connection to PC2. I have to then reboot the camera to re-establish the connection. Is this normal? I need the flexibility of being able to take any of the PCs offline without the need for a camera reset.
Thanks for your help.
