    2 Different G skill rams 1 question

I just ordered a (G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600) Just to get my rig up and runing and later on I want to add a 8gb. The problem is the only 1.5v dual channel 1600 8gb is the ripjaw series (G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600) and the one I bought is not a ripjaw. Is it possible to mix the 2 series if both specs match?

    Timing The 4gb is: 9-9-9-24
    Timing The 8gb is: 9-9-9-24-2N

    Gskill 4gb:

The way the specs read, the 2x2 is 9.9.9.24.2N @ 1600 Mhz while the 2x4 is 9.9.9.24.2N @ 1333 Mhz.

    Sorry I don't understand I thought both are 1600 and I thought the 1333 is actually a 800mhz speed in a ddr2 and the 1600 is somewhere in the 1200 in ddr2

    or

Should I just cancel my order and get a ripjaw 4gb 1600 with the same 1.5v and Timing: 9-9-9-24-2N

Sorry - I was looking at this; http://www.ncixus.com/products/44264...Specifications

However, G Skill also shows the 1600; http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=239

That being the case, should be fine.

So are you saying that the non 4gb ripjaw will work with the 8gb ripjaw?...

Or should I just cancel the order and get the same spec ripjaw but in 4gb?..

    If both are 9-9-9-24-2N @ 1600 then they shouldn't be a problem.

edit: from the looks of things, the "ripsaw" name is derived from the structural appearance of the built-in heatsink.

Go to the Dell-India site -> http://www.dell.co.in/ and enter your service tag number and research your specific computer there.

edit: once you know what type of ram and how much of it you can install (number of sticks and size), then shop around at local suppliers.
