Windows 7 crashes when playing video
On random occassions when I play video Windows 7 crashes and there is no other option than to hit the reset button.
I have googled around and there are quite a few people with tihis issue but can't really find a fix.
I am sunig CCC 10.4 also this was happening when I was using 10.3 as well,
Also I am using the ultimate 64 bit version
Any ideas?

Well the information you have provided tells me absolutely nothing and what any of the hardware is.
It also tells me nothing about what video type or file type is crashing.
Some more detailed information is needed.
And just so you know I am running Ultimate as well as CCC 10.4 and it never crashes on video nor do any of my other machines on Windows 7 that I own or have built, so I am not sure how you get it being "quite a few people"

I play alot of AVI videos not tried anything else
If you google windows 7 cerahes with video alot of stuff comes up so it is quite a few people does not mean it's everyone.

These avi's and I ask because avi is so general of a term where do they come from?
Are they DivX? or Xvid?
Does the system crash when playing a dvd?
An mpeg?

Since dvd's play properly and it seems to be only xvid's i can only assume its likely a codec problem of some sort.
Now dvd's are far more demanding to play so i would say your hardware is just fine.
Since these are xvid's, I have to ask did you torrent them?
I would possibly try installing VLC media player and see if that corrects it
