DVI to VGA problem
I have recently upsized by LED screen to an LG E2360 model however it only has a VGA socket on the back.
Graphics card is a GF 9800 GT with only two DVI slots on it. I bought a small adapter but there is just a blank screen when I connect it up.
My old screen, an LG E1940, works fine as it has a DVI connector.
Any ideas?

Are the card outputs specified as DVI-I (carries analog VGA signal also)? Have you tried on both DVI connectors? Only one may be DVI-I. Normally a DVI-D (without analog VGA signal) connector will not have the holes to allow you to attach a DVI-I adapter, but I suppose it's possible a DVI-I connector could have been used on a DVD-D output.
Alternatively, have you gone into Display Properties and extended the desktop display onto the second screen?

Are you using both monitors? What version of Windows? Are you sure this new monitor works?

Thanks for the replies. I think it is a DVI-I and the adaptor is DVI-D, either way I've told the shop to take it back and give me a screen with a DVI port - can't believe that a brand new 23" LG LED screen only has a VGA connection!
