Cpu socket different than what is shown in manufacture site for same model

1. Is it normal to have the CPU socket different than what is shown in manufactured site? I am asking because my 2 motherboards "ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3" CPU socket is different to what is shown for this same mobo on manufacture website:

Compare that to asrock and you will see it does not look the same [already checked other sites also where they are selling this mobo]:




So is that normal?

The pic of your motherboard still has the processor inside, plus the securement clamp looks to be holding in the processor which is going to look different than the pic with the clamp open and minus a processor

1. I do not have any processor inside, it just looks like it. How about another one:


And I am talking about the hollow part inside the cpu socket not around it where the clamp is.

That one is a little clearer as I can see the pin slots. It looks like it's correct to me. What makes you think it's not the same?

Agreed, blurry and incomplete images make it difficult to distinguish exactly what difference is causing concern. If it's the slight variation in the surface-mount bypassing components in the central block, I don't think that's a problem. The board images being used on sales or support sites are probably the same stock image that was issued when the board was first released. There's no certainty detail like that will remain identical throughout the production life of a board.

If it's something else, please elaborate. However I note from elsewhere that the board is probably going to have to be returned anyway, so it might be a moot point.
