Everyone has some kind of place that makes them feel transported to a magical realm. For some people it's castles with their noble history and crumbling towers. For others it's abandoned factories, ivy choked, a sense of foreboding around every corner. For us here at Curious Expeditions, there has always been something about libraries. Row after row, shelf after shelf, there is nothing more magical than a beautiful old library.

The man-hours that it would take to have someone do just one fireplace would be enormous, much less a whole building. Also, I doubt that there are any or very many true craftsmen who can do it.

One would believe all books will be replaced into digital format over time, so no books means very empty looking libraries.

I hate the idea that books are all being moved over to digital media and eventually no hard copies to be needed. I don't care how organized a library is on their setup of digital books or some organizations setup is. Books allow for you to find older volumes and are less likely to have been edited/censored when the political correctness demands so. I fear the loss of halls of tomes from ages gone by can be perused only to be forced to stare at a glowing screen of the few selections that were able to be scanned due to "demand for the topic/version". Not to mention if napster/file sharing is any sign of how misinterpretations and mislabling can go for digital media not to mention how easily a legitimate copy can be lost over time due to digital corruption that went unchecked.
