Newest malware: F.B.I. virus

My brother Joe brought me his new laptop with an interesting new twist, it purports to be from the F.B.I. and says that the user has been identified watching kiddie porn and the F.B.I. wants $200. It uses the built in web cam to "stream a video of the perp to the Govt. ". Malwarebytes killed it, it was in the startup masquerading as CTFMON.exe. It turned off all antivirus, and stopped the machine from using Microsoft Backup. I almost called for help from Niclo, as the $#@! thing wouldn't let me get into safe mode.

Ha, I kind of wish you had called. I've read about this infector several times in the past year. It originally was designed only to attack russian computers and parts of asia. I guess they finally got a translation put together for the USA. I will update this post shortly once I get the articles for the infector.
